Week 1 Summary

It's been a good WK1 for most entries. Only 4 of 62 lost. (There is still one game in progress and one entrant has SD.) Here are the stats from previous years. As you can see this WK1 is close to the best.

Nate Taylor and George Valcho (yes me, ugh) lost in WK1 for the second consecutive year. Nate had DEN on the road, I had WAS at home. I was looking for a home team, other than NE, and WAS looked good before the game. Luckily I'm still alive on my second entry.

Kathy Kourkoulos earned the distinction as the earliest loser ever. I don't think anyone has ever played the Thursday night opener and lost. It's hard to image why someone would pick the road team against the defending Super Bowl champions.

Finally, former champion Doug Horstman got beat by ATL, he had CAR.

We are all happy for the second chance bracket.

Interesting stat from WK1, 11 road teams won. But you'll get knocked out if you think that's a trend.

We ended up with 61 paid entries. $1525 to the winner. $610 for second place.
