2007 Champion: Mike Gilbert

Mike Gilbert won it all this past weekend. He picked GB to beat DET and that clinched it for him when his nearest competitor lost with SEA. An ironic twist? Mike lives in Seattle and he managed to ignored the Seahawks.

I met Mike a few years back when he was employed as a consultant by Royal Caribbean. He was part of the team that selected the company I worked for as Royal Caribbean's loyalty program database provider. Mike continued to work with me for a few years as the Royal Caribbean database was developed and implemented.

We've managed to stay in touch over the years with an email or phone call "what are you doing now". This year I again invited Mike to play King of the Hill and he said "yes" after a two year hiatus. No wonder he took two years off, he lost in week one in both 2002 and 2003. In 2001 Mike lasted into the top 12 but lost in week nine. The lesson is...don't be discourage if you lost early this year.

Mike will receive $1510 just in time for the Christmas holiday (the $10 is a refund for the Second Place bracket where he is no longer eligible).
